ABOUT

Nana Shimomura's solo exhibition, "Star Poems and Calligraphy," will be held from February 13 (Tue.) to 21 (Wed.), 2018. Based on the Chinese Tang Dynasty's "Houtian Song" (*1), a poem about the constellations, Shimomura writes poems as if tracing the stars in the night sky. The exhibition will feature approximately 20 works of calligraphy that focus on "writing" using the night sky, which has remained unchanged since ancient times, as their subject matter. We hope you will take this opportunity to view them.

Nana Shimomura was born in Fukuoka, Japan. In 2015, she graduated from Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music. In 2017, she completed graduate studies at Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music.
