Satoko IWASAKA
Born in 1989.
Graduated from International Christian University and Hitotsubashi University.
＜Artist's Message＞
I have created this series on the theme of forests in order to capture the ambivalent aspect of forests, which give us peace and at the same time arouse feelings of awe. I hope to express both the tenderness and the harshness of the forest. Ideally, I would like to paint pictures that allow viewers to enter into the fluctuations that we usually tend to turn our eyes away from. I always aim to create pictures that do not depict things as they are, but rather reveal the true nature of the things I depict.
