ABOUT

Seeing insects in the soil that the Buddha dug up and small birds being eaten by insects, he felt a pain. "Poor creatures eat each other," was said to me all the time. For many years, Saito has been involved in teaching printing techniques at Tokyo University of the Arts, etc., and has earned the trust of professors and students with his high technical skills and enthusiastic guidance in a wide variety of fields, from woodblock prints, copperplate prints, lithographs, silkscreens to digital prints. Mr. In recent years, he has been actively working as a printmaker with a unique method created by his nearly 40 years of history with printmaking.

2016: Appointed as a professor in the Department of Lifestyle Art at the Junior College Division of Koriyama Women's University. Received a Special Award at the Fukushima Watercolor Painting Association Exhibition

1985: Worked as an assistant in the Flat Workshop at Tokyo University of the Arts until 1989. Joined the Saitama Printmakers Association as a member, and participated in the Nissha Print Grand Prix and the Ljubljana International Print Biennale in former Yugoslavia
1984: Established Saito Graphic Arts, and participated in the "Today's Print Exhibition" at the Saitama Prefectural Museum of Modern Art
1983: Joined Akagawa Printmaking Studio, and held a solo exhibition at Izumi Gallery
1983: Completed the Art Research Institute at Nihon University College of Art
1982: Solo exhibition at Nishi-Ginza Gallery, and received the Excellent Award at the Ryu Gallery's exhibition for promising new artists
