SHO ARATANI
In my work, I use natural materials to express the beauty of those materials. Most of my works are glazed with ash glaze, a glaze made from plant ashes. The color and the ease of melting (vitrification) vary depending on the type of wood and the environment in which the wood was grown. Because it is a natural material, it is not stable at all as it changes greatly with firing, but it is both difficult and interesting to see the different expressions it gives from time to time. I also hope to bring out the beauty with a unique sense of tension because of its instability.
MARINA KIRIYA
There are many times in our lives when we find it difficult to breathe.
By depicting the things that have been close to my heart at such times, things that have taught me the courage to know that the end is a beginning, I am gradually transformed into a new me.
I hope that the works created in this process will be close to someone's heart.
