ABOUT

We are honored to present Mr. Autenbogarde's exceptional works, which highlight the delicate texture and warm feel of Tosa Washi, a traditional Japanese paper with a history dating back 1000 years. This paper is known for its high quality and variety, and is a major specialty of Tosa, produced under the clear waters of the Niyodo River and other rivers.

Welcome to Art for Thought, the premier Japanese art gallery in the heart of Ginza, Tokyo. From December 4th (Friday) to December 26th (Saturday), we invite you to experience the breathtaking world of Japanese paper with our upcoming exhibition, "The World of Japanese Paper" by renowned artist Rogir Autenbogarde.

Mr. Autenbogarde is a Tosa craftsman and visiting professor at Kochi University of Technology, with decades of experience in producing traditional Tosa handmade paper. In this exhibition, he showcases the beauty and versatility of Japanese paper through various works inspired by the relationship between people and nature. Among them are a pendant light made of Japanese paper and straw, a stand light adorned with flowers, and a plane that fuses Japanese paper with cotton paper.
