ARTIST'S INTRODUCTION / STATEMENT
Brian C. Lo's solo exhibition, "Moments," at Art for Thought in Ginza, Tokyo, is a series of mixed medium paintings that capture the different emotions and memories of nature's process. Each painting portrays the fluid aspect of nature in a still and yet dynamical manner. The exhibition explores the concepts of growth and rest, union and separation, and emphasizes the importance of paying attention to the process and evolution of the world around us. Brian Chih-Chiang Lo is a Taiwanese American mixed medium painter who was born in Taiwan, raised in Alaska and Hawaii, and has been inspired by the connections between humans and nature since relocating to Tokyo. Lo's work has been recognized and collected by the Hawaii State Foundation on Culture and the Arts as a top emerging artist in Hawaii. As an artist and exhibition designer, Lo explores the notion of connection and examines human's attraction and obsession to be connected through physical and digital communities. In "Moments," Lo seeks to reconnect with nature and highlights the beauty of nature's fluidity, how it removes, divides, infuses, unites, reshapes, transforms, amplifies and renews.
