ABOUT
For the first time in Tokyo, ART FOR THOUGHT is proud to present the "HAKU-OMOTE - Hiroto Rakusho Exhibition," showcasing the extraordinary talent of Hiroto Rakusho, a master craftsman who revolutionizes the art of foil. Born in Nishijin, Kyoto, Rakusho inherited from his father the technique of patterned foil and expanded its use to Western clothing, interior decoration, and tableware, among others. He also participates in cultural heritage projects and reproduces replicas of cultural properties housed in museums in Japan and overseas.
In this exhibition, Rakusho highlights the beauty and potential of foil, taking it from the backstage to the front stage, and fully enjoying its texture and expression. The theme "HAKU-OMOTE" expresses Rakusho's intention to put Haku, a supporting actor in the craft world, in the leading role. Visitors can expect to be mesmerized by the exquisite foil surface, which reflects light and creates an infinite expanse that draws the viewer into the divine.
The exhibition will be held simultaneously at nada art gallery and ART FOR THOUGHT, both within walking distance in Ginza. Join us for the opening party on October 4th from 18:00 to 20:00 and witness the stunning beauty of foil art. Don't miss this opportunity to see the works of Rakusho.
