From Monday, June 21 to Saturday, June 26, 2021, we are pleased to present an exhibition by La Mano Fria (Ramano Fria), a graphic designer from New York, USA, who works nationally and internationally.
La Mano Fria
Graphic designer, typographer and record label owner who moved to Miami from New York.
He has been working both in Japan and abroad, mainly on a series of works using colorful duct tape as a material, based on the faces (caras) of those who died fighting for freedom in Latin America.
In 1996, he exhibited his first series of designs at the legendary Footwork store in New York City, and in 1999, he launched his own record label with labels such as Beta Bodega and Botanica del Jibaro. He has designed numerous CD and record jackets, logos, and T-shirts, and has been on the cover of Studio Voice magazine. His work has been featured on the cover of Studio Voice magazine and in magazines such as Tokion, Fader, and Remix.
He has been active both nationally and internationally, releasing numerous music and T-shirts through Beams Records and Beams T Clothing between 2003 and 2011. In 2008, they performed at the festival "Medelink" in Medellín, Colombia.
Between 2005 and 2013, he held an art exhibition at UPLINK GALLERY (Tokyo, Japan), and in 2008 he began performing live graphic performances using gummed tape, touring the U.S., South America, and Japan.
He is also the originator of the "Miami & Tokyo Beer Tour" and has worked as an artist for Asahi/Kirin/HITACHINO NEST BEER (Japan), Minerva/Magna (Mexico), Sweetwater/New Belgium Beers/Hatuey ( (USA).
In recent years, he has returned to his roots working for underground record labels, primarily the internet and cassette tape labels Sud Swap Audio Brewing and Botanica1.
