Takumi Matsumura is a Japanese flutist known for his soulful and improvisational style. Born in 1971 in Fukuoka, Japan, he began playing the flute at the age of 12. After studying jazz at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, he returned to Japan to pursue a career in music. He has since become one of the most sought-after flutists in Japan, playing with numerous jazz ensembles and releasing several acclaimed albums. In addition to his performing career, Matsumura is also a dedicated music educator and has taught at various institutions including the Yamaha Music School and the Tokyo College of Music. His unique style and passion for music continue to inspire audiences around the world.
