Welcome to Art for Thought, a Japanese art gallery located in the heart of Ginza, Tokyo. We are thrilled to present the upcoming exhibition by the renowned unit, S.VANDA.H.WAGON.
ARTIST'S INTRODUCTION / STATEMENT
From January 23 to January 28, 2017, Art for Thought is delighted to host the solo exhibition "CONFRONT(対峙)" by S.VANDA.H.WAGON, a collaboration between makeup artist Saki and art director Furukawa. Through the use of roses, mirrors, and makeup products, they create a unique world view by "cutting out" and "reconstructing" elements.
S.VANDA.H.WAGON offers a mirror that captures the moment in the flow of time. The emotions within and the appearance in front of them may not always match. In fact, they are usually entirely different. Even if their heart is in turmoil, they remain with an unchanged expression. The act of witnessing this appearance is nothing other than a confrontation with oneself.
Saki, the S.VANDA.H.WAGON designer, is an accomplished makeup artist who has worked in various fields such as magazines, advertisements, and films. Furukawa, on the other hand, is an art director who has worked in a range of mediums, including print media, web, products, and spaces.
Join us at Art for Thought for an unforgettable experience, as we showcase the unique and thought-provoking artworks by S.VANDA.H.WAGON.
