Art for Thought is delighted to showcase Sumire Yamamoto's "Ballet Scenes III - Ballet Paintings Drawn from a Dancer's Perspective," a stunning solo exhibition that runs from September 15th to September 27th, 2014. Yamamoto, a former ballet soloist, uses her personal experience on stage to bring to life the enchanting world of ballet in her oil and watercolor paintings. Her unique perspective captures not only the grace and beauty of ballet performances but also the intimate moments of preparation backstage, giving viewers a glimpse into the dancer's world. Born in Tokyo in 1955, Yamamoto began classical ballet at the age of 4 and became a soloist in the Momoko Tani Ballet from 1974 to 1989, where she danced various solos, including the two swans from "Swan Lake." After leaving the company, Yamamoto pursued her passion for painting and is now known as a "ballerina who can draw illustrations." She graduated from Musashino Art University, Department of Oil Painting, and has been studying watercolor painting with Ms. Yukiko Inaba since 1996.
