ABOUT

ART FOR THOUGHT is pleased to present the solo exhibition of Kensuke Miyazaki, “Floating about” from December 13 to 21.

(*The opening reception will be held on December 13 from 6:00 pm until 7:00 pm. The first 30 minutes will be an opening talk event.)

Under the theme of “Super Happy,” Miyazaki has been developing a mural project around the world in collaboration with local people from various cultures. This exhibition will be an exhibition of paintings created based on the mural painting workshop in Palau.

What do the “blue oceans” spread out before our eyes in a gallery in distant Japan inspire in the viewers? What does the “blue ocean” mean to each of us in today's society?

Like the fish and swimmers in the Palauan sea, I would like to ask how we can be “Super Happy” by halting our steps and floating about.

ARTIST'S STATEMENT

This year, in the Republic of Palau, we painted a mural at the airport, the gateway to the country.

When Palauans are asked about the attractions of Palau, they all answer in unison, “the ocean.” As they say, Palau is home to a wide variety of marine life, which attracts divers from all over the world. I heard many stories about sea life from children there.

This time, I painted a picture based on the episodes I heard from them. Please take a look at the works of art that are filled with the charm of Palau.
